Have you ever gotten such good news that you felt like you needed to share it immediately with everyone you passed? Like you couldn’t contain the joy? Like your heart would burst if you couldn’t shout it from the rooftops? Yes? Me too! But let me back up…
The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind…I’m not even sure if I can remember all that has happened since the beginning of June! There was a Marine Corps graduation, a visit from my lovely sister (who is giving me a new little niece or nephew come December!) and my unbelievably adorable nephew, a local mission trip, a trip to Chicago, crazy amounts of church presentations, new friendships, a training seminar with my mission agency, and more! Suffice it to say, I’m ready to be at home for a few days. In the midst of all those happenings, I got some of that ‘shout it from the rooftops’ kind of news! Want to hear about it? I thought you might!
God brought me another partner! I am now officially at 57% pledged support! YAHOO!!!! Do you know what that means, folks? That means that I am now closer to the end of this support raising adventure than I am to the beginning! I am so thankful for all the partners God has brought me so far, and I can’t wait to watch how He provides that last $2,000 a month I need! Maybe you are part of the answer? (If you are interested in joining my support team, head on over to my ‘support info’ page to get started!)
During one of the sessions I attended at my mission agency’s seminar, I was struck by something that was shared. We were discussing how to build support teams, what support raising truly was, and it goes beyond our typical understanding of ‘raising support’. We see support raising as meeting people, sharing our vision, gaining funds, and enlisting prayer partners. But the man who was teaching said this,
“Support raising is about involving other believers to become global Christians who play a vital role in proclaiming the Gospel to those in different cultures who have not heard of Jesus.”
I have to admit, I had never thought of my partners this way. Some believers are sent, and others are created to stay, but that does not mean they are not a part of the Global work God is doing! My support raising is not about getting fully funded. It’s about partnership in the Gospel. What a great perspective!
Please continue to pray for me as this journey progresses! Keep your eyes open for a new page on my website dedicated to my itinerary so you can pray more specifically and can keep up with my travels!
